THE WHEELS ON THE BIKE GO ROUND & ROUND!

About a month ago I bought a new bicycle.  My old one kept breaking whenever I went out.  Oh my, what a difference a new bike makes.  I have developed a love of bike riding.  We have some wonderful, scenic, paved & non-paved  bike trails in our area.  I never used them much before because of my lack of activity.  I use them all the time now.   My favorites spots to go are "Macomb Orchard Trail", "Stoney Creek Metro Park" & "Paint Creek Trail".  I also enjoy walking them.  I ride my bike about 5 miles a day for a short work out, 20-30 for a longer work out.   I NEVER thought I would think a 5 mile bike ride was a small work out.  I NEVER thought in a million years that I would be able to ride a bike for 30 miles and yet one day I even went 34 miles.  I even find myself looking for bike/walking trails as one of my tools for decision making when booking our camping trips.  This week I've had to stay in the campgrounds to bike.  It is a large campground and so I still get in at least 5 miles, but I'm chomping at the bit to get out on some trails.  Tomorrow we head for Holland (MI) area for a 2 week camping trip.  They have amazing bike trails over there.  At least that's what I've been told.  We have been there many times, but never used the trails.   My goal is to get in at least 5 miles a day and some days try for 30-40 miles.  Once again, I love the new active me.


Today's Recipe:  "Healthy Swedish Meatballs"  Very good and simple to make.  These are on the higher end of what I consider a healthy recipe, but still far less calories than regular swedish meatballs.  If you want to make it less calories, omit the noodles.
